Adoption Process

At Olive & Cypress, each kitten is intentionally bred and raised with significant time, care, and resources. The following policies ensure clarity and commitment for both parties.

Reservation Deposit

A non-refundable reservation deposit is required to secure a kitten. Deposits may be transferred to a future litter at the Seller's discretion if a suitable kitten is not available or if circumstances change prior to final kitten selection. Transfer requests are not guaranteed and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Payment Terms

The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to placement. All payments made toward the purchase of a kitten are non-refundable, except in rare circumstances at the sole discretion of the Seller. No refunds will be issued once a kitten has been reserved and/or final payment has been completed. Structured payment plans may be offered at the Seller's discretion. All payment plans must be completed prior to the kitten leaving the Seller's care.

Pickup Timeline

Kittens must be picked up or delivery arrangements finalized no later than 13 weeks of age. Failure to complete payment or arrange pickup by this time may result in forfeiture of all monies paid and the kitten being made available to another approved home.

Returns & Rehoming

If the Purchaser is unable to keep their kitten after taking possession, the Seller must be notified in writing within five (5) days of receipt. The kitten may be returned within ten (10) calendar days of receipt. Upon return and evaluation of the kitten's health and condition, the Seller may, at their discretion, offer a partial refund (excluding the non-refundable deposit) or apply a credit toward a future kitten. All transportation, veterinary, and associated costs related to the return are the responsibility of the Purchaser and are non-refundable. After the initial ten (10) day period, no refunds or credits will be provided. However, the Seller will always accept the return of a kitten at any time to ensure its well-being and proper placement.

Additional Terms

No refunds, credits, or reimbursements will be provided for veterinary expenses, shipping fees, or any other costs incurred after the kitten leaves the Seller's care. This policy does not supersede the Genetic Health Guarantee outlined separately in this agreement.

My goal is continually produce healthy kittens. Please inform me if your cat/kitten develops any health issues. I will try to be as helpful and accommodating as possible. This kitten is guaranteed for a period of two (2) years from the date of sale against life-threatening, inherited genetic diseases. In the unfortunate event that the kitten passes away within this two-year period due to a confirmed inherited genetic condition, the Purchaser must notify the Seller in writing within five (5) days of the diagnosis or death. A complete necropsy report, performed by a licensed veterinarian, must be provided at the Purchaser's expense. The report must clearly state that the cause of death was due to a hereditary genetic condition. Upon verification, the Seller will offer a replacement kitten of equal or lesser value from a future available litter, at the Seller's discretion. Replacement kittens are subject to availability and standard waitlist procedures. This guarantee does not include refunds, credits, or reimbursement for veterinary expenses, diagnostic testing, or shipping costs. All associated costs remain the responsibility of the Purchaser. This guarantee is void if the kitten has been neglected, abused, improperly cared for, or if recommended veterinary care, including routine health maintenance, has not been followed.

"The seller is not responsible for any injury or illness to other pets caused by exposure to it." If you have other pets, I suggest slowly introducing your new kitten to them. Keep a watchful eye to make sure they don't harm each other.

"Under no circumstances will this cat/kitten be sold, leased, or given away to any pet store, animal shelter, research laboratory, breeding mill, or similar facility." This policy is very important. DO NOT resell or give away your RagaMuffin to any of these facilities. I do understand sometimes circumstances change and people must re-home their RagaMuffin, please contact me if you cannot find a good home. I will gladly help you find them a good home or take them myself.

"This cat/kitten will be kept indoors and will not be allowed to roam freely outdoors." RagaMuffins are typically not fighters. They should not be allowed outside unless supervised.

Pet kittens will be spayed/neutered by 6-months of age. Pet kittens are placed on a strict spay/neuter agreement, enforced through a professional third-party compliance provider to prevent unauthorized breeding and protect the integrity of our lines. Once the procedure is completed I will send the CFA registration papers.

"The Purchaser agrees this kitten is not to be declawed or all health guarantees are voided. This cattery feels this surgery is very inhumane and does not agree with this practice." DO NOT declaw you cat/kitten. If you do, all health guarantees outlined above will be voided.

If you ever have any concerns or complaints, please reach out to me via email. I truly want to help resolve any issues you may have! Purchaser understands that if there are any issues with this kitten, the Seller should be immediately notified in writing by email. Purchaser should make every effort to keep Seller informed of issues and work with the Seller to resolve any issue. Purchaser agrees to abide by this contract and not post negative comments in any public forum and/or file credit-card charge-backs or PayPal disputes so long as the Seller stands behind and honors Seller's obligations under the terms of this contract.
